This article aims to conduct a socioeconomic diagnosis with producers of Ilha Solteira, São Paulo state, Brazil, reinforcing the insertion of a cost management through the development of software.A semi-structured questionnaire to 15 properties, based on quantitative character of technical coefficients related to the production was carried out.The study found that 92% did not work with management costs, mainly due to the absence of orientation.It follows that the diagnosis reflects the need to take practical and low investment information such as the manufacturing cost of a simple software which can be spread concurrently with improvement in production.
