Resumo

Review of the litterature on options for increasing the octane of the gasoline pool, examining technical and economic aspects. Preliminary indications include the following alternatives: incorporation of high octane streams into the gasoline pool, alterations of existing processes, and adoption of processes so far not applied in Brazil. Specific studies on the local situation are recommended for arriving at the most attractive option both for PETROBRAS and for Brazil
