The cover of Shameful Victory features an architectural drawing of the site plan for Dodger stadium above a photograph of four Los Angeles county Sheriffs forcibly carrying Aurora Vargas down the stairs of the Arechiga family home on the day of their eviction from Chavez Ravine, May 8, 1959. Each image tells one history of Chavez Ravine and together they reprise another story told in a mural by LA artist Judith Baca, depicting Dodger stadium as a UFO invading as Mexican American, Chavez Ravine families look up in fear.
