Resumo

In Ramon Llull's novels, the ideal of contemplative solitude enters into conflict with the desire for missionary activity: how can a person act upon the world while preserving the spiritual fruits of contemplation? A study of Blaquerna and Felix reveals a literary strategy which aims at acting upon the reader in such a way as to transmit the experience of solitude, thanks to which he will be better able to penetrate the Divine mysteries. The activity of the contemplative thus becomes an art of writing, a work of the Word.
