ResumoWe report 3 cases of tuberculosis occurring after liver transplantation. Two patients presented with fever, 2 and 8 months after transplantation, while the 3rd patient was asymptomatic. In the 1st case, disseminated disease developed rapidly; the other 2 patients presented with pulmonary disease only. In all patients the mycobacterial infection was treated with INH, rifampin and pyrazinamide, as well as ethambutol in the 1st case. Anti‐tuberculous treatment was complicated in the 1st case by development of severe INH hepatitis after 9 months, necessitating drug withdrawal. The prophylaxis, diagnosis and treatment of mycobacterial infections in liver transplant recipients are discussed.
