ResumoEven though the opening up of the Mexican telecommunications market was the first obvious sign of the existence of a technological development project in Temex, the firm's strategy for constructing a technological pathway is much older This strategy has involved several actors and institutions, the most obvious of which are the two firms the CARSO group associated with to purchase Telmex (France Telecom and South Western Bell). However, the technological path taken would undoubtedly have been different without the existence of the firm's two major service centers: CID and for the past three years, the National Long Distance Supervision Center. The aim of this article is to describe the technical potentialities of the cvs in creating areas of knowledge within Telmex and in the sphere of Mexican telecommunications, in addition to its importance in creating the firm's symbolic trajectory.
