Brazilian History and Foreign Policy

The formation of an electoral body requires the enrollment in an official list of the people who are allowed to vote according to standard rational principles. The history of the formation of electoral lists permits the understanding of transactions that lead to the imposition of restrictions on citizenship. It is also possible to follow the bureaucratic state construction along with its apparatus that organizes the elections, classifies the voters and the candidates and thereby causes tensions among those interested in exerting any portion of authority over the population. The article starts from this idea : it shows the formation of the electoral body in Brazil as a parallel construction of the political institution
