Resumo

This study presents the comic book as a resource for Religious Education classes. On the one side, the comics are a form of language, enable communication. As a form of language, they can be the means by which the teaching-learning process takes place. On the other side, they are a contemporary artistic and cultural good, which present and represent human life in their raison d’etre and unpredictable changes, they are carriers of content and meaning and they become a place of witness of religious experience. So, at first, this study is concerned with the characteristics of comics. Secondly, it outlines intersection points between religious experience, religion as a human phenomenon and sense producer, and the possibilities of theological look to sequential art. Finally, it presents didactic and pedagogical suggestions from a teaching experience among basic education teacher training. The study reiterates, in the end, the potential of comics as a form of language and cultural-artistic good as a resource for Religious Education classes.
