Power loss reduction in the powertrain of a premium SUV

Resumo

In a joint action, Porsche and Schaeffler developed a CO2 demonstration vehicle based on a Porsche Cayenne with a V8 SI engine. During the CO2ncept-10% project, new optimized components for powertrain and chassis enabled a reduction in NEDC fuel consumption of around 10 % compared with the volume produced SUV. The saving is split at a ratio of 70 to 30 in the utilization of technologies with optimized energy requirements and the reduction of friction on contacts respectively.
