Linguistics and Discourse Analysis

This paper contrasts the analysis of conditional constructions in Functionalism and Cognitive Linguistics, and argues that the semantic model adopted– Objectivist Semantics and Cognitive Semantics, respectively – is at the heart of the differences observed in the main insights provided by each approach.
