This essay studies the possibilities of rhetorical analysis of the biblical text. It presents briefly the rhetorical analysis and exposes its different modalities available today. For this purpose it takes an example of the Epistle to the Hebrews, starting from the rhetorical tradition of its commentaries. It defends the recognition of the promising and necessary contribution of Jewish rhetoric for the rhetorical analysis of the New Testament. It ends with an appeal to the Brazilian exegetes that they be attentive of the rhetorical analysis in their works.
