ResumoO trabalho focaliza a forca da transmissao de valores entre as geracoes exposta no livro Diario da Queda , do autor gaucho Michel Laub. As feridas psicologicas, os segredos nao revelados e as atitudes negativas em relacao ao “diferente” e ao “outro” ocorrem ao longo das tres geracoes enfocadas pelo narrador – o avo, um sobrevivente do campo de concentracao; o pai, um negociante bem sucedido; e o filho, o personagem que conta a historia. Os traumas familiares sao transmitidos de uma geracao para a outra, culminando com a pratica do bullying pelos rapazes judeus contra Joao, o rapaz nao judeu da turma. Diary of the Fall : the power of the transmission between generations and the transgenerationality of trauma - Abstract: The paper focuses on the strength of the transmission of values between generations in the book called Diary of the Fall , by Michel Laub. The psychological wounds, unrevealed secrets and negative attitudes toward “the different” and “the other” occur throughout the three generations focused by the narrator – the grandfather, a survivor of the concentration camp; his father, a successful businessman; and the son, the character who tells the story. The family traumas are transmitted from one generation to the next, culminating with the practice of bullying by the Jewish boys against the non-Jewish boy in the class.
