ResumoO presente artigo discute os fatores subjacentes ao atual problema de desemprego enfrentado pelos principais paises industriais da economia mundial. O autor destaca as mudancas no contexto financeiro internacional como um dos principais aspectos da questao, por instaurarem um clima deflacionario nas politicas macroeconomicas dos paises do G7. Por ultimo, o texto aponta algumas das possibilidades e dificuldades para implementacao de politicas de pleno emprego no âmbito do G7, da Uniao Europeia e do Reino UnidoAbstractThis paper discusses the roots of the problem with unemployment which currently assaults all the major industrial countries. The author stresses the roots of the problem in developments in the international trading and financial system since 1973. Finally, the text highlights some of the possibilities and difficulties to an implementation of full employment policies at the levels of G7, European Union and United Kingdom.Key-words: Employment.
