O texto mostra a construcao do conceito de foton no inicio do seculo XX, ou seja, da natureza corpuscular da luz, a partir da lei de Planck, em 1900, para o espectro de radiacao do corpo negro, e do metodo de quantizacao da luz por Einstein, em 1905. Palavras chave: foton; luz; fisica moderna; Planck; Einstein. Abstract: The paper discuss the construction of the concept of photon at the beginning of the 20th century. In other words, how the corpuscular nature of light has grown, from Planck's law for the black-body radiation, in 1900, and from Einstein's quantization of light, in 1905.
