Resumo

Chemical analysis, X-ray diffraction, and electron microscopy have been used to determine the composition and microtexture of an ulvoespinel-magnetite intergrowth in titaniferous Fe from Rouville County, Quebec. The composition of the ulvoespinel is estimated to be (Mg (sub 0.42) Fe (sub 0.58) )(Fe (sub 1.03) Ti (sub 0.71) Al (sub 0.26) )O (sub 3.90) . It has a spinel-type structure with a=8.460 Aa. Electron micrographs show an exsolution texture consisting of pleonaste lamellae and magnetite cubes in an ulvoespinel matrix.
