ResumoTo update the species list of ferns and lycophytes in Santa Catarina, provide the phytoecological region of occurrence and identify endangered species we performed a compilation of literature and herbaria records of lycophytes and ferns in Santa Catarina. We recorded 442 taxa, distributed in 108 genera and 33 families, of which 37 species belong to lycophytes, and the other 405 taxa belong to ferns, with 20 new records for the state. In the Subtropical Rain Forest, 394 species were found, 276 in the Mixed Forest and 73 in the Semidecidual Forest. We consider seven species as vulnerable, one as critically endangered and seven as presumably extinct. In the Santa Catarina Conservation Units, 4,012 records of 296 species were registered. Despite the floristic surveys recorded by the Flora Ilustrada de Santa Catarina and by the Inventario Floristico Florestal de Santa Catarina, there are still new records in Santa Catarina.
