Resumo

The objective of the study was to estimate the reference evapotranspiration (ETo) of the city of Ariquemes (RO) and to compare the estimates by the methods of Penman-Monteith-FAO and Hargreaves-Samani for the period 2011-2013. We used data of air temperature, relative humidity, pluviometer measurements, speed of wind and solar radiation provided by the National Institute of Meteorology – INMET and obtained the Automatic Meteorological Station of Ariquemes/RO. To compare the two methodologies were used the concordance index (d), the correlation coefficients (r), the coefficient of determination (R 2 ) and linear and angular coefficients of the regression line. Among the results, we found that the Hargreaves-Samani overestimates in every month the ETo when compared to standard method. However, the estimates were considered good.
