ResumoA new species of operculate discomycetes, Gyromitra chirripoensis is described from the paramo of Chirripo Grande, Talamanca. It beIongs to the complex of G. gigas (Karst.) Harmaja. With this addition, the Helvellaceae are represented in Costa Rica by three taxa: Helvella atra Oed. ex Fr., G. infula ([Schaeff.] Fr.) Quel., and G. chirripoensis, L. D. Gomez.
