This article analyzes O 1.º de Maio, a far-left political group, that existed between 1974-1976, having multiple local nuclei, a weekly newspaper, and been subjected to several changes during its short history.This is a group that had not been subjected to a systematic socio-historical study.Thus, we will first analyze the characteristics of O 1.º de Maio, then examine a brief state of the art, as well the methodological choices, namely document analysis and semi-directive interviews, which guided this project.Finally, we will describe the story of O 1.º de Maio, based on three qualitatively different phases.
