Este trabalho tem como objetivo discutir conceitos culturais que surgiram do encontro entre diferentes culturas; sobretudo os encontros entre colonizador e nativo na America Latina, alem de um breve, porem, significativo, exemplo da Africa do Sul. Abarcando os conceitos de Americanidade e Americanizacao, Entre-lugar, Mesticagem e os desdobramentos dos diferentes encontros culturais e historicos, este artigo pretende apresentar os fatores e as caracteristicas que constituem a identidade pos-colonial das nacoes, bem como a cultura hibrida que surge de tais encontros, reforcando suas caracteristicas heterogenicas. ABSTRACT: This paper aims to discuss cultural concepts that have emerged from the encounter between different cultures; especially encounters between colonizer and native in Latin America, and a brief but significant example of South Africa. Embracing the concepts of Americanness and Americanization, The Space In Between, Mestizaje and the consequences of the different cultural and historical encounters, this article aims to present the factors and characteristics that constitute the postcolonial identity of nations, and the hybrid culture that arises from these meetings, reinforcing their heterogeneous features.
