Trauma and Emergency Care Studies

Center (F-MARC), and the International Olympic Committee Medical Commission (IOC) is organising an International Symposium on Concussion in Sport.Faced with the increasing incidence of this potentially dangerous injury in ice hockey and other sports, we have gathered the leading medical experts from all parts of the world and from a wide sampling of diVerent sports, experienced in dealing with sports related head injuries.Our objective is to understand, as completely as possible, what actually takes place when severe blows to the head occur.It is our hope, that with the information learned, we can begin educating our athletes with the goal of eliminating concussions in all sports.We are most grateful to the esteemed presenters for their extraordinary eVorts, and to the many others who have submitted abstracts and papers for consideration.
