ResumoA case of scarlet fever in eight year child with massive hemorrhage was studied. Based on the symptons observed and the anatomopathological lesions found this is a case of the Waterhouse Friderichsen Syndrome. This is the first reference in the medical literature of the syndrome in scarlet fever. Recording the results of the necropsia, the most important findings were, a wide and bilateral adrenal lesion, an intensive capillar congestion with small spots of hemorrhage, specially in arachnoide where no inflammations process was found.
