TODAY'S TOP-LEVEL football pitches look pristine and play even better. Even when it rained so much that this year's Manchester City Champions League clash with Borussia Monchengladbach had to be cancelled, the stadium's drainage facilities worked well enough to get the pitch playable for the following evening.
