Este artigo examina as relacoes do Imperio do Brasil com os Estados platinos durante a Guerra dos Farrapos, levando em conta o impacto da revolta separatista ocorrida na provincia meridional no tabuleiro da regiao entre os anos 1835 e 1845. Ao faze-lo, tambem se considera as acoes dos governos e das faccoes politicas da regiao, incluindo as dos proprios farrapos. Deste modo, pretende-se compreender como a Farroupilha influenciou o jogo politico no Prata durante aquele periodo. ABSTRACT: This article examines the relations between the Empire of Brazil and the Platine States during the Farrapos War, taking into account the impact of the separatist revolt that took place in the southern province on the wider regions chessboard between the years 1835 and 1845. In doing so, it also considers the actions of the regions governments and political factions, as well as the Farrapos. Thus, the article seeks to understand how the Farroupilha influenced the political game in the River Plate during that period. KEYWORDS: Empire of Brazil, Farrapos War, River Plate.
