ResumoRelationship between the minimum reflactance (R%) and the concentration of a dye (mg. per 100cc.) was examined with a filter paper staind by various dye solutions for foodstuffs. When the value of 2-logR is plotted against the value of √c (c is the concentration of the dye solution in mg./100cc.), approximately linear relationship was found to hold within a certain range of dye concentrations. Similar relationship was also found to hold between the minimum reflactance of the filter paper spotted with such dye solutions and the amount of the dye (γ) in a spot.
