ResumoAbstract Discovery of Potamides tricarinatus at the top of the Saint-Ouen limestones at Herblay, France, has prompted a correlation of the Bartonian facies of the Vexin region (predominantly marine) and the Parisis region (predominantly lacustrine). The Marines sands and Bois du Mulot limestone of the Vexin region correspond to the Monceau sands and Noisy-le-Sec limestones of the Parisis region; the former overlie the Cresnes and Ruel sands, and the latter, the upper Saint-Ouen limestone. The Saint-Ouen limestone of the Vexin region corresponds to the lower Saint-Ouen limestone of the Parisis region.
