Purpose: Information concerning increased venous pressure is crucial in pathologic situations like cardiac failure, liver disease or chronic venous insufficiency. However, the measurement of venous pressure requires punction of the vein and is not suited for routine or repeated examinations. A non invasive technique to determine venous pressure would be helpful in various situations.
