The article discusses the ‘brasiguaios’ as an identity in construction on the border Brazil/Paraguay. Part of an analysis of the problem of identities, highlighting the border as the environment where the similarities and differences of ‘different’, triggering relations diverse identities. In the case of ‘brasiguaios’, the immigration of brazilians to border regions in Paraguay, represents an exemplary case of a identity that emerges at the border. The text addresses the processes of immigration of brazilians to Paraguay and emergency of the identity ‘brasiguaia’, highlighting the conflicts and disputes over the definition and the allocation of this identity on the border Brazil/Paraguay.
