ResumoO texto parte de uma analogia entre o movimento zapatista de Chiapas, México e a resistência ecofeminista observada em várias regiões da Ásia e África. O capitalismo, no seu afã de submeter a natureza não poupa o equilíbrio sócio-biológico e a dignidade da força de trabalho, o que se verifica brutalmente nos projetos de "desenvolvimento" para o subcontinente indiano. Neste sentido é que se deve compreender a formulação política alternativa dos novos movimentos sociais do Terceiro Mundo - sobretudo feministas, que se opõem ao modelo de "desenvolvimento" oposto à vida e vêm colocar em questão o próprio trabalho não assalariado de reprodução da força de trabalho. DEVELOPMENT AND REPRODUCTION Mariarosa Dalla Costa Analogies can be perceived between the Zapatist movement in Chiapas, Mexico, and the ecofeminist resistance observed in various regions of Asia and Africa. Capitalism, in its craving to subdue nature and history, does not spare the socio-biological equilibrium and the dignity of the work force, something which is brutally verified in the projects "of development" of the Indian subcontinent. It is in this sense that the alternative political formulation of the new social movements of the Third World - above all feminine - that are against the model of "development" opposed to life and that have put in question the unpaid work of reproducing the work force, should be understood.
