I have recently come into possession of a copy of the document popularly known as The Magna Carta. History records that King John signed the document under duress imposed by his Barons in June 1215, and at a meadow called Runnimede, the rebellious Barons impressed their will on the King primarily in defence of their liberties, but with extended demands for rights for all freemen.
