ResumoThe objective of this study was to investigate the influence of season on seminal parameters of Brazilian Pony stallions, reared in the Santa Maria - RN. Five stallions, clinically healthy and in reproductive activity were used. The ejaculates and environmental data were collected once a week in periods of March-April and August-September 2012. The seminal parameters evaluated were the volume, motility, vigor, concentration, % of live and sperm morphology. Was observed significant effects (P <0.05) of the collection period on vigor, sperm concentration, larger defects and minor defects. Our results demonstrate that in our climatic conditions clear seasonal differences occur in spermatic quality of fresh semen of stallion pony during the year.
