ResumoWilliam Dawson9s Nova Scotia species Naiadites carbonarius, N. mytiloides, N. ovalis, N. arenaceus, N. angulatus, and Carbonicola bradorica are redefined, the last three assigned to other genera. His N. elongatus and N. laevis are indeterminate. Specimens labelled N. laevis Dawson are referred to Curvirimula cf. C. belgica (Hind) and C. tessellata (Jones). Naiadites obtusus Dawson is assigned to Anthraconauta phillipsii (Williamson) s.l., and N. ohioensis Morningstar is transferred to Anthraconaia Trueman and Weir. New species are Carbonicola sculponeata and Curvirimula? corvosa. Correlation with the British sequence suggests the Canso Group equals the lenisulcata Zone, the Riversdale Group equals the communis Zone, the Cumberland Group equals the similis-pulchra and modiolaris zones, and the Pictou Group correlates with the Morganian Series.
