ResumoThis study reports the occurrence of the copepod parasites E. versicolor and E. lizae in the coastal waters of Rio Grande do Norte State, Brazil. Thirty-one specimens of white mullet, Mugil curema (Mugilidae), were collected from the coastal Waters of Ponta Negra and, through necropsy, nineteen of them were found to be parasitized by E. versicolor and E. lizae . Three hundred and eighty- three specimens of E. versicolor were found during the rainy season with a prevalence of 58.06% and twenty-two specimens of E. lizae during the dry season, with a prevalence of 3.23%. The parasites present a clear specificity in relation to male hosts (66.67% during the rainy season and 100% during the dry season).
