Resumo

As a case study, preservation and utilization of industrial heritage in Tokyu Car Corporation (TCC) is discussed. TCC has started preserving their own products by in-house preservation system established in 2008 of their 60th anniversary. Three railway vehicles have been designated as Tokyu Car Heritage and preserved in TCC Yokohama plant. The utilizing policy of the industrial heritage is to better brand value, to use real products in engineering education, and to encourage eagerness of company staff. It was evaluated that the results of utilization surpassed expectation. However, the result was not reflected to financial value of property because it was not quantitative evaluation but qualitative evaluation from the technical viewpoint.
