Resumo: O Documento de Aparecida oferece significativas e imprescindíveiscontribuições para a formação do presbítero. Atento à mudança de época emque vivemos, marcada sobretudo pelo pelo “modo de ter de existir” e pelo “modourbano de existir”, urge um repensamento do modo de ser Igreja e do seu agirmissionário. Consequentemente, é preciso repensar também o ser e agir dopresbítero, chamado a assumir a missão de pregar o Evangelho de Jesus Cristoque valoriza “ser” pessoal e cristão. Contra a “profissionalização do ministériopresbiteral”, é preciso afirmar a missão, gratuita e permanente, como eixo articuladorda formação presbiteral.Abstract: The Document of Aparecida makes some significant and irreplaceablecontributions to the formation of priests. With special attention to the changes inour time and age, as marked by the means needed for existence over the modeof urban existence, a new requirement is made to the Church so as to stress themode of Christian belonging and missionary action of the faithful. As a result,priestly vocation should focus on the role of the priest as preacher of Christ’sgospel, rather than on a mere professional ministry. Most important of all is toreaffirm his commitment to Jesus Christ in view of the gratuitous and permanentmission of the priest in unrelenting growth towards perfection.
