ResumoResumo: O artigo tem como objetivo colocar o leitor em contato com argumentos querefletem o presbítero a partir do Documento de Aparecida. Segue o método da pesquisadocumental. Aborda três eixos que desafiam a vida e o ministério do presbíterona formação inicial e na formação permanente através da exposição de argumentosextraídos do DA, de Documentos do Magistério da Igreja, da Sagrada Escritura e depesquisas científicas. Faz a leitura da missão compreendida como serviço. Refereque a Igreja trabalha através de cinco dimensões o homem presbítero total, ou seja,a dimensão humano-afetiva, intelectual, espiritual, pastoral e comunitária. A Igrejacuida da formação do presbítero para que viva sua vocação e tenha competência paraevangelizar no contexto cultural pós-moderno em crise de mudança de época. O artigofala de profissionais da psicologia que trabalham com presbíteros. Refere-se ao relatoinformal de presbíteros que se beneficiaram pelo recurso à psicoterapia. Enfim, focalizaa dimensão humano-afetiva e sugere a capacitação de profissionais da psicologia emnível de pós-graduação para atenderem a demanda da Igreja, levando-se em conta aadequação da linguagem, de pressupostos teóricos e dos procedimentos científicos.Palavras-Chave: Documento de Aparecida, presbítero, vida e ministério.Abstract: The aim of the present article is to put the reader in contact with argumentsthat reflect the presbyter in the Document of Aparecida (DA). Its method is documentalinquiry. Three aspects that challenge the life and ministry of the presbyter in the initialand permanent formation are reflected by the exposition of arguments extracted from theDA, from magisterial documents of the Church, from the Holy Scriptures and scientificinquiry. Mission is conceptualized as service. The article argues that the Church formsthe integral man-presbyter in five dimensions: the human-affective, the intellectual, thespiritual, pastoral and the communitarian. The Church is concerned with the formationof the presbyter for him to live his vocation and to be competent to evangelize in thepostmodern context in an epochal change. The article cites professionals in psychologywho attend presbyters. Makes reference to informal reports of presbyters who benefittedfrom recurring to psychotherapy. Finally, focalizes the human-affective dimension andproposes the capacitation by post-graduation of professionals in psychology to attendthe demand of the Church with respect to linguistic adaptation, theoretic presuppositionsand scientific procedures.Keywords: Document of Aparecida, presbyter, life and ministry
