Resumo

This paper aims to present Vicente Joaquim Soler, considered the father of the calvinist missions in Dutch Brazil. I tried to reconstruct, as far as possible, the ecclesiastical routines of this preacher, demonstrating the zeal and boldness with which they engaged in the work of implementing the Reformed Christian Church in Dutch Brazil. To achieve this goal, primary sources of this period were constituted and analyzed, and especially the letters written by the character analyzed in this paper. Those sources lead us to the conclusion that Vicente Joaquim Soler, Spanish, Franciscan Augustinian friar converted to Calvinism, was the main agent of Calvinist catechesis in Dutch Brazil.
