ResumoYves Montand (Ivo Livi) and Serge Reggiani are immigrants. As many other Italians, they came to France in the twenties. They shared the same life conditions as other young Italians abroad. After the Second World War, their artistic careers show durable links with their parents’ homeland. Despite their differences, they are both symbols of “Italianess” at the end of the Italian migration flow in France and when migration disappeared from collective memory.
