ResumoThe purpose of this article is to use Anders Ericsson's theory of deliberate practice to examine the way in which the legendary golfer Ben Hogan worked on his game. Of particular importance in Hogan working on his game was overcoming a destructive hook shot, which he attributed to what became known as “Hogan's Secret”. It is argued that the Secret can be understood in terms of Hogan developing a more integrated understanding of his golf swing.
