Resumo: A imagem de Deus surge das experiências humanas. A partir daeducação que recebemos, especialmente na família, mas também diante deoutras influências – religiosas, culturais, comunitárias etc. – criamos uma imagemde Deus. Essa imagem se manifestará no relacionamento que teremos e, demaneira muito acentuada, na educação a transmitir. “Conforme a imagem quetemos, assim a atitude que adotamos”. Essas imagens podem ser consideradasreais ou distorcidas, à luz da verdadeira face de Deus.No primeiro momento, o autor expõe algumas imagens negativas de Deus,condicionadas por paradigmas culturais. Assim, navega pelos mares de umacultura medieval, passando depois a breve análise da cultura moderna, paraanalisar, em seguida, a imagem de Deus naquilo que se convencionou chamarde pós-modernidade, no seu fenômeno de retorno do sagrado. No segundomomento, quer contribuir para resgatar a verdadeira face de Deus.Abstract: The image of God springs out from the human experiences. Startingfrom the education we received, especially in the family, but also because ofother – religious, cultural, communitarian – influences, we create in ourselvesan image of God. That image will be manifested in our relations and, in a veryespecial manner, in the education we will transmit. “According to the image wehave, that will be the posture we will adopt.” Those images may be consideredreal or distorted, at the light of the true face of God. Firstly, the author describessome negative images of God, conditioned by cultural paradigms. In that way,he sails in the seas of a medieval culture, going then to a brief analysis of themodern culture, to examine, afterwards, the image of God in this that we convenedto call the post-modernity, in its phenomenon of the return to the sacred.Finally, he wants to contribute to rescue the true face of God.
