ResumoThe objective of this article is to unveil how the visual narrative helps to construct the spirit of the community festivities, once it is present everywhere and in every stage of the celebrations. The field research was carried out in the community festivities in the city of Estrela - Rio Grande Do Sul from 2004 to 2007. Through interviews, images taking and the observation of the festivities participants, it was possible to analyze how visual narrative mediates the real and symbolic exchanges among the social actors who participate in such events. The visual narratives, in the context of the community festivities, are revealed in the form of images (graphical, signals, colors...). The visual narrative as the means of information communication of the meaning of the festivities is responsible for mediating the construction of their common spirit
