Resumo: Apos uma introducao que sintetiza varias caracteristicas do pensamento e da acao pastoral de Jorge Mario Bergoglio – como jesuita, professor universitario, superior provincial, bispo-auxiliar e arcebispo de Buenos Aires – o autor trata, primeiro “da renuncia de Ratzinger a Francisco”. A seguir, do “espirito que anima Francisco”, e da “irradiacao de um pontificado”. Comenta, tambem, seus “gestos e iniciativas programaticas”. Analisa o fato de Francisco ser um “padre jesuita”, e seu “perfil internacional”. Fala das prioridades do seu pontificado, da sua preferencia de conceber a Igreja como um “hospital de campanha” e, por fim, da esperancosa sintese da Evangelii Gaudium, de 24- 11-2013, a Exortacao pos-sinodal na qual a Evangelizacao e apresentada sob a otica da alegria crista. Abstract: After a lengthy introduction synthesizing various characteristics of the thought and the pastoral activity of George Mario Bergoglio — as Jesuit, teacher at the university, Provincial, auxiliary bishop and arch-bishop of Buenos Aires — the author deals first with the abdication of Ratzinger as Pope previously to the election of Pope Francis. Then he points out the “spirit which inspires Pope Francis”, and the “irradiation of his pontificate”. He makes some comments about his “gestures and programmatic initiatives”. He analyses the fact that Pope Francis is a “Jesuit priest” and that he shows forth “an international profile”. He also mentions the priorities of his pontificate, his preference for a Church compared to a “field hospital” and finally he envisages a hopeful synthesis of Evangelii Gaudium of 24-11-2013, in the words of the Post-synodic Exhortation which presents Evangelization in the light of Christian joy.
