ResumopThis article aims to study the adaptation strategies of the novel emAte o dia em que o cao morreu/em, by Daniel Galera, for the cinema, under the title emCao sem dono/em, directed by Beto Brant and Renato Ciasca. The core of the investigation is the transposition of the narrative focus, respectively internal and external, from the book to the film. In the film adaptation, schemas such as the characterization of time and space and the triggering of actions beyond the original plot are adopted in relation to the narrator-literary character, as opposed to an external focus present in the film./p
