La presente investigacion tuvo como objetivo calcular la capacidad de carga turistica del Lago Tarapoto, ubicado en el municipio de Puerto Narino en la amazonia colombiana; para realizar el calculo, fue necesario adaptar la metodologia propuesta por Cifuentes en 1992, ya esta fue propuesta para ecosistemas terrestres y el Lago es un ecosistema acuatico de tipo lotico, que esta conectado por el cano Tarapoto, el lago El Correo y parte del rio Loretoyacu que son el acceso al lago y que se consideraron como senderos naturales.Con la metodologia utilizada se calculo el numero de visitas por dia; sin embargo, debido al sistema existente de manejo turistico que se emplea en el Lago Tarapoto, que esta dado por grupos guiados en una embarcacion y no por individuos, el calculo de capacidad de carga, en este caso, se realizo en numero de embarcaciones por dia.AbstractThe present study aimed to estimate the tourism carrying capacity of Lake Tarapoto, located in the municipality of Puerto Narino in the Colombian Amazon; to perform the calculation, it was necessary to adapt the methodology proposed by Cifuentes in 1992, because it was given to terrestrial ecosystems and the Lake is an aquatic ecosystem.With the methodology the number of visits per day was calculated; however, the calculation is performed in number of vessels, due to the type of tourism management system that has Puerto Narino.
