Abstract: On March 4th 2013, during the construction period of the Rio Grande Dam, it happened an extraordinary flood thatoverflowed the cofferdam that caused its destruction. Because of its importance to review the design flows for the Chone Multiple Purpose Project, were investigated the characteristics of the overflow phenomenon as well as are evaluated the probability of occurrence of this and other river flows.
