ResumoAbstract The lower course of the Rance (Ille-et-Vilaine), France, crosses the general structure and affords excellent exposures through the zones of metamorphism in the crystalline schists. From south to north one first encounters ectinites (upper and lower mica schists), then migmatites. Petrographic study of the latter shows that they were formed by recrystallization of preexisting rocks, accompanied by slight enrichment in Ca and K.
