Perizin was apllied in accordance with manufacture’s directions in 9 colonies of africanized honeybees parazitized with Varroa jacobsoni . In those colonies, together with 9 control colonies it was determined the infestation rate of adult bees, one week before and weekly, during a 9 week period after the treatment. It was counted the number of varroas and bees dropped out in the botton of the hives during a period of 12 hours. Perizin showed strong varroacide action throughout the experiment and a light transient toxic effect to the bees.
