Otto Lara Rezende is a writer native of the state of Minas Gerais, born in 1922. His training as a writer receives multiple influences. In it, we find echoes of Machado de Assis work, levels of dialogue with Dostoieviski, some influence from the Catholic Existentialism, via French, via Brazilian. In his literary universe, the child remains present. His infantile characters, however, never turns up as idealized ones: They make the game between being and having the appearance of; they receive evil and are able to perform it. In fact, they exist in an atmosphere of intense psychopathology.
