ResumoDulce Maria Loynaz (Cuba, 1902-1997) and Orides Fontela (Brazil, 1940-1998), have constructed their work under unfavorable circumstances marked by some form of censorship, for a historical experience established by violence and authoritarianism. This paper discusses some reflections on the author’s poetry, the relationships with the production context, and the strategies employed in order to say, or not say, through his art. To have the word forbidden or castrated assumes a violence that, in case of the author, is subject to all of the silences and the way they are constructed.
