RESUMO O presente artigo tem por foco identificar e analisar as bases teoricas e politicas dos cursos de formacao continuada oferecidos pela Escola de Formacao e Aperfeicoamento de Professores, da Secretaria da Educacao do Estado de Sao Paulo. Foram pesquisadas, para isso, informacoes sobre os cursos oferecidos por essa instituicao, tendo como fonte principal de dados alguns documentos oficiais, alem de dissertacoes, teses e livros que abordam o tema da formacao de professores. Procurou-se mostrar o contexto historico e politico da criacao do espaco de formacao acima citado, alem de apontar os cursos oferecidos e como estes chegam a sala de aula atraves da pratica do professor. CONTINUOUS FORMATION COURSES OFFERED BY THE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION AND TEACHER IMPROVEMENT OF SAO PAULO STATE ABSTRACT This article is focused to identify and analyze the theoretical foundations and policies of continuing education courses offered by the School of Education and Teacher Improvement of Sao Paulo State Education. For this, were surveyed information about the courses offered by the institution, the main source of data were some official documents, as well as dissertations, theses and books on the topic of teacher education. It tried to show the historical and political context of the creation of training opportunities mentioned above, while pointing out the courses offered and how they arrive at the classroom through teacher practice.
